Aquariums
Aquariums (or aquaria) are tanks with at least one transparent side
in which fish and other types of water-dwelling creatures and plants
are kept.
Fish tanks
Modern fish tanks come in countless shapes and sizes. The most common
are rectangular home tanks made from glass or acrylic.
Aquarium supplies
Necessary aquarium supplies will vary depending on the size and type
of aquarium.
Fish tank supplies
Freshwater fish tank supplies are easier to come by and less costly
than their saltwater counterparts.
Aquarium fish
When buying aquarium fish there are several attributes to look for so
dive in and shop around.
Saltwater aquariums
The first saltwater aquariums were simple glass jars and marble bowls
used by the Romans.
Freshwater aquariums
Freshwater aquariums are by far the most popular type because they are
less expensive and easier to maintain than saltwater tanks.
Reef aquariums
Reef aquariums are a specific type of marine aquarium designed to accommodate
coral.
Aquarium lighting
Aquarium lighting is good for the plants and animals inside the tank
as well as those watching from outside.
Aquarium hoods
Homemade aquarium hoods are fairly simple to build and may be necessary
for anyone with an odd sized or shaped fish tank.
Acrylic aquariums
Acrylic aquariums are a fairly recent development but it’s likely
that they will take the place of glass fish tanks in the near future.
Aquarium decor
Popular aquarium décor includes fake plants, diver figurines,
skulls and castles or other buildings.
